Greetings,
As the beautiful colors of autumn drape most of the US Northeast, I am happy to share with you the latest GEC Risk news and resources.
This month's The GlobalEthicist column "Executive Whistleblowing: What To Do When No One Listens" for Ethical Corporation Magazine (http://bit.ly/1fgPM58) examines the special difficulties executives experience if they suddenly find themselves in the unenviable position of being a potential whistleblower. Just ask the ex-CEO of Olympus, one of the few CEOs to ever blow the whistle and pay the consequences. These difficulties are compounded for executives who also happen to manage risk, legal, ethics, audit or compliance. Take a look at the column and see what you think.
October was a busy month for GEC Risk and November promises to be similar. We are working on several exciting Conference Board projects including a November 19th Webcast with GEC Risk Advisory Council member, Hans W. Decker, retired CEO & Vice Chairman of Siemens USA, on "A CEO's View on CSR, Risk & Reputation Management" (http://bit.ly/16ZybP4). Also in November, I am speaking on "A New Approach to Supply Chain Management: Risk Adjusted Due Diligence" at the NAVEX Annual Virtual Conference and on the "Board's Role in Ethics and Compliance" at the NYSE/Corpedia IPO Readiness Conference. On tap for December 10-11 is "Managing Global Risk & Reputation to Your Company's Advantage", an interactive workshop for cross-functional executives.
