GEC #Risk2Value NEWS

JANUARY 2019

2019. GEOPOLITICS. CYBER. SECURITY. LEADERSHIP.
Dear Friends,

Welcome 2019 - a year that will no doubt be interesting, complex and potentially dangerous from a geopolitical, cyber and economic standpoint. Marrying two of these three themes, my latest Axios Expert Voices column makes the case that geopolitics, not economics, explains why we're having wild market gyrations. Check it out.

Below you will also find a few of my take-aways from my first Davos experience as part of the 2d Annual Davos Cyber Future Dialogue - while the cyber challenge is daunting, my principal take-away is that with the right cross-disciplinary minds collaborating we will meet this challenge. Speaking of which two great resources of the year are published in conjunction with Davos - the World Economic Forum Global Risks Report for 2019 and the Edelman Trust Barometer for 2019 - I highly recommend both.

Lastly, in this newsletter you will also find a link (for subscribers only) to an excellent FT AgendaWeek piece on what went wrong at California utility PG&E (with my 2 cents on some governance issues) as well as to today's full day ACC Foundation CyberSecurity Day in which I will moderate and participate on a panel on AI and Cybersecurity.

Cheers and have a good February!
