Greetings and Happy New Year!
I trust that you and yours had a great holiday season and wish you a wonderful start to the year!
The holiday season for GEC Risk was jampacked with news and activities some of it surrounding the recent publication of The Reputation Risk Handbook, which has been getting a lot of attention and coverage, including a feature article in the Wall Street Journal on 12.31.14 for which I was interviewed on "Key Takeaways of Corporate Reputation Risk 2014" (http://on.wsj.com/13JfdLm).
Also in early January, I became a regular commentator for the Wall Street Journal's "Crisis of the Week". My first contribution was to comment on the AirAsia crisis (http://on.wsj.com/1xXghaO).
There are three exciting events coming up over the next few months:
- On February 23-27, 2015, NYU is launching a brand new Corporate Compliance & Ethics Certificate Program, of which I and my friend and colleague, Jacqueline E. Brevard, are co-directors, taking place in NYC. You can find out more about this program in this newsletter.
- The 7th Global Ethics Summit takes place in NYC on March 10-11, 2015; GEC Risk is a sponsor and speaker - more information available in this newsletter.
- I am Program Director for the first annual Conference Board "Global Risk, Integrity & Reputation" Conference featuring cross-functional approaches to all things risk, integrity and reputation. Our newsletter readers can receive a substantial discount by using this code: AB1. See more information in this communication.
All the best and until February!

Transforming Risk into Value

New GEC Risk2Value Blog
Focus: Risk to Value Creation
The new GEC Risk2Value Blog was launched on 1.1.15 to explore how value can be created from risk. Our first entry "Did SONY Just Transform "The Interview" Cyber-Risk into Value?" examines "The Interview" crisis and considers whether the film studio extracted more value from movie sales than it would have had there been no crisis. Take a look at this first post (which was picked up by the WSJ's Corruption Currents on 1.3.15) here: http://bit.ly/1rGCLMv
