About the Presentation:
Landside access to vital assets around the globe are heavily restricted and well controlled. Not so, for the waterside. "Globally, terrorists have shown an increasing interest in using small boats to attack military and commercial shipping and maritime facilities" according to the Heritage Foundation. Just last month, Islamic militants fired rockets from speedboats at Libya's largest oil port of Al-Sidra, killing 22 sailors and shutting down the Libyan Oil Industry which accounts for 95% of the countries' GDP. And a week ago, Iranian Revolutionary Guards conducted a drill, Great Prophet 9, near the Strait of Hormuz aimed at honing swarm boat tactics. Halo Maritime Defense Systems of Newton, NH, has developed cutting-edge technology to counter the threat, bringing the same level of security that has worked effectively for millenia on the landside to the waterside of vital maritime assets around the globe.
