Last winter, my daughter started knitting a hoodie
with a bulky chenille yarn
. I wanted to stay hands-off, and let her do all the work, but the project was dragging on, and I was afraid she was going to outgrow it before she got it finished (she grew up 3 inches this summer!). So, with her permission, I pitched in and completed it this week, and she is happily wearing it now. She says it is the most comfortable hoodie she has ever had. That's a pretty high endorsement!

P.S. These are the sort of projects my daughter is drawn to - whimsical, imaginative, cute: Crocheted Yearling Headband.
