October 2021

It's getting chilly! 🍁

It official, fall is here, and that means we're gathering wood for our wood-burning stoves, and trading out our summer tank tops for winter jackets.

We've been slowly opening up for events, so we're excited to share what we've been up to. If you haven't been to the property in a while, come by for a tour — we made a lot of cool changes! We've got four tiny houses and our corral is looking really beautiful.

Our next open community brunch is Sunday October 24th (11am), and as a special treat we'll also be brining olives! If you'd like to join us for that, just reply to this email so we can get a head count.

Summer Camp

We were so fortunate to host the inaugural Emerald Village Summer Camp this past summer, and had such an amazing time with all of our participants.

We welcomed adults and children from all over Southern California to come and experience our community, immersed in nature and building survival skills. Jeremiah Scott joined us as a camp counselor from Grass Valley, bringing his expertise in primitive skills and roleplaying.

From water slides and rope swings to medicinal herb harvesting and box forts, the camp was a blast for all involved. Many of the children really enjoyed the archery and axe throwing, while others loved the hike to the waterfall and pond or the games like fox walking and water balloon fight. Thanks to everyone in the community for supporting us, and for all of our wonderful participants. We look forward to even more fun next summer!
