April 2020

Love in the Time of Coronavirus

Hello friends! Wow, what a time we're living in. Who would have thought that 2020 was going to be this eventful? Or maybe, uneventful. Like most organizations, we've cancelled all of our public events, and we've been isolating our community from the outside world to stop the spread of COVID-19. We've also installed a trebuchet in case we need medieval defense of the property.

We're kidding about the trebuchet, but it's true that EVO has closed it's doors to visitors until further notice. We hope you've been having a happy and healthy quarantine, thanks for staying connected to the EVO community and please enjoy this month's fantastic newsletter!

COVID-19 Survivor Tale

By Yona, Founder at EVO

I contracted COVID-19. The main reason I want to tell my community is because I want to encourage anyone who has come into contact with me or those around me to pay more attention to their health and who you now come in contact with.

Is is most likely that I caught it somewhere around the beginning of the this month - March. I do not know if I caught it from being a firefighter or from my daily life. Testing is so minimal and slow but honestly it’s hard to know where it has come from...

Easter at EVO

We have been on full quarantine and physical isolation since early March. All families were separated and maintaining social distancing for over a month. In the last week we have begun treating the entire property as one family, which allowed us to have our first internal community meal and close interaction since the COVID-19 era began.

We are still maintaining strict protocols for anyone leaving on supply runs, but we are blessed to have been able to be close to each other for Easter. We look forward to being able to share our land with the greater community once it is safe to do so.
From our family to yours, Happy Easter!
