Saloning and Conversing

Our roundtable on September 26 is now being co-presented with Salon West, a series of curated conversations that bring together politicians, community leaders, and artists for important discussions leading to real, impactful changes.

The topic has been changed to art in public spaces, an under-explored context for the performing arts. The panel on sustainability of the arts will be held later this Fall. More details below.

Speaking of salons, Toronto Masque Theatre hosts their first salon this year on Sept 22. TMT's prices for under-30 are one of TO’s best kept secrets.

In case you missed this, the Lean Performing Arts program is fresh on the scene to help artists and organizations explore the creative space between tech startups and the arts world. Apply by Oct 1.

Our efforts are fuelled by your participation and input, so please don't hesitate to reach out, share an idea or suggestions for improvement.

I hope to see you at the "Art of Public Space" on Sept 26!

Startup Founders and Artistic Directors have quite a lot in common: Both are trying to create something new starting with basically nothing.

Inspired by the methods and processes of the startup world, the Performing Arts Alliance of Canada is running a pilot project that will help arts organizations, individual artists, and collectives re-imagine the future of the arts sector. Details here and here.

Applications due Oct 1, 2014.

If we regularly call ourselves ‘starving’ artists in such an off-handed way, what respect do we expect to earn?

Co:Lab • Glenn Gould Edition Updates

The Sept. 8 meetup was a great success thanks to Faye Perkins and David Jaeger. A plan is forming to fully engage all performing artists, and we will have more conversations. If you missed out, don't despair; more chances to dive into the depths of Glenn Gould await.
