Hi <<First Name>>,
Tax season officially begins for the Get Your Refund Tulsa team today, February 1. Get Your Refund Tulsa is a joint effort between Goodwill Tulsa and Tulsa Responds with the goal of helping low-income households receive the full benefit of their tax refunds without using paid preparers. But we can't do this important work without community partners like you to spread the word about free tax filing assistance for households making under $58,000.
You'll receive occasional updates from us on the locations of our sites, resources to share with your network, and the progress we're making throughout the season. We are always looking for ways to serve those in need better and would love the opportunity to speak with your organization about our free tax filing assistance, or to set up a dedicated time to assist your clients with tax prep. If you're interested in setting up a meeting to discuss, please send us an email!
Please share our flyer (English & Spanish) with our website and appointment times. Contact us if you'd like printed copies.
Thanks for your partnership in making this our biggest tax season yet!

In-person and Remote Filing Options
VITA locations are taking appointments this year to reduce wait times and avoid crowding at tax sites. Schedule an appointment today or call (918) 900-0918 for more information.
Secure, virtual appointments are also available to those with reliable access to the internet and a device with a camera. Filers can securely upload their tax documents by visiting GetYourRefundTulsa.org, and will be contacted by a preparer to complete the filing and quality review processes over the phone.
This season we are pleased to announce that we're expanding our filing sites and will be offering appointments on some evenings and Saturdays. We will update these locations periodically, the best place to find up-to-date locations and times is by visiting our site to make an appointment. Filers can find us at the following locations (please refer to our flyer for hours):
- Goodwill (16th and Yale and Southwest Boulevard Locations)
- Tulsa Dream Center
- South Tulsa Community House
- Neighbors Along the Line
- The Common Good
- All EduCare sites (for families of students only)
Why is it Important to File?
Every year thousands of Tulsans don't file their taxes because they don't make enough to owe money, but they don't realize they're likely missing out on tax credits they are owed. This is especially true this year when Tulsa tax filers could see significant tax returns thanks to stimulus checks, the Child Tax Credit and the EITC:
- If a tax filer has not received all of their stimulus checks from the last two years, they could receive them with their tax return.
- If a filer has a child age 17 or younger, they are eligible to receive the second half of their Child Tax Credit (up to $1,600 per child).
- If a filer missed any Advanced Child Tax Credit payments between July and December 2021, they could receive those with their return
Who Qualifies for Free Tax Assistance?
Tulsans earning less than $58,000 a year can take advantage of no-cost professional tax services at Goodwill Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites located across Tulsa. Last season, VITA filed more than 3,000 tax returns, totaling more than $4 million in refunds!
