Four ways to give back on Giving Tuesday

You don't have to be a world leader or a billionaire to give back. Giving Tuesday is about ordinary people coming together to do extraordinary things.
On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, Child Development Institute will be one of thousands of Canadian charities participating in Giving Tuesday, a movement for giving and volunteering that takes place after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Now in its fourth year, the Canadian Giving Tuesday movement encourages charities, companies and individuals to join together to share commitments, rally for their favourite causes and think about others.

There are many ways to get involved in the movement, from spreading the word on social media, volunteering with your favourite charity or donating to a cause you're passionate about.

Ways you can help

1. Help us deliver critical mental health programs to children, youth and families

CDI’s many therapeutic programs and services offer excellent support to Toronto’s children and youth, along with their parents. They may be struggling with anxiety or depression, feelings of sadness or hopelessness, trying to manage extreme behaviours they don't understand, learning disabilities that can create great distress in every part of their lives and violence at home.

Through your support, we can help transform
the lives of Toronto’s most vulnerable families.

2. Become a volunteer

We are looking for energetic, creative and motivated individuals to help us enrich the lives of children and families. Opportunities include: assisting with activity groups, tutoring at Homework Club, providing research and administrative support and building a one-on-one relationship with a child receiving treatment in one of our programs.

3. Join our Monthly Donor Circle

Signing up as a monthly donor is a convenient way to donate that contributes to the long-term sustainability of our programs. Our monthly donors provide reliable funding, which helps us plan for the future of our programs and create a positive impact for more children and youth.

All new Monthly Donor Circle members will receive a Taste of Home Cookbook, with recipes from CDI’s Taste of Home Program, perfect for sharing with an important child in your life!
