Dear Doc,
The Knight News Challenge on Data is now open for applications, asking people to submit ideas that address the question: How might we make data work for individuals and communities? A collaboration between Knight, Data & Society and the Open Society Foundations, the challenge is offering $3 million for innovative ideas.
If you have questions about the application, you can join us for virtual office hours or in-person events in cities across the country to learn more about the News Challenge. The schedule, which is regularly updated, can be accessed here.
To enter and for more information, go to newschallenge.org and answer a few questions by Sept. 30. For more information take a look at this press release and blog post. Follow #newschallenge on Twitter for updates and please spread the word through your networks.
Best,
John Bracken
