Hi <<First Name>>!
While volumes are up in the solar industry, prices are down...
which means the industry’s total revenue is stagnant.
BUT ... there’s more competition than ever.
Solar retailers are faced with working ever-harder to secure a slice of decreasing revenues.
Unless you do something that stops you needing to compete on price.
So, I wasn't surprised when two out of three solar businesses interviewed by Nigel Morris said: Key to their business success this year is using customer service to build reputation and generate referrals.
That’s because whereas with regular leads you're automatically competing on price against two other companies, referrals instead deliver easy-to-convert sales without competition.
Great customer service can also generate great reviews. And most people are using Google reviews when choosing their solar company.
The challenge is: great customer service costs money.
In the words of Troy Ryan of the Solar Depot (a leading solar business and one of Nigel's interviewees): "People are expensive and you gotta use their time wisely."
Mark Moody of SolarWorx said key to business success in the next year was to "not waste money on staff". Both said you need to be super-efficient with admin and use IT really well.
"You're talking about operational efficiency... It really does make a difference"
Automated Customer Engagement is the perfect intersection of the two trends of customer service and super-efficient IT.
- Automatically communicating with customers pre-sale
- Automatically soliciting feedback, reviews, and referrals post-installation.
- Automatically reviving cold leads.
- Automatically recommending upgrades, expansions, and storage to old customers.
Right about now most say "Yeah I know I need to do that. But it takes a lot of time to set up and I'm too busy keeping up with demand"
You're right. You're busy making ends meet.
But it's a pity.
Automated customer engagement is the most important trend of 2021... the most important trends that most of us don’t have time to do.
Because everyone is too busy running on the treadmill to step off onto an easier path.
Sunfluence (SunWiz's sister company) has a solution that you can implement without lifting a finger.
An investment in your business success that pays for itself in a single sale (over and over again).
PS: If you’re in lockdown, now is the time to invest in leaving behind the price war.
If you’re not in lockdown, now is the time to improve your solar business anyway you can.
