Funding the ACP - We Need Your Help!
The Australian Cyclists Party is 100% run by volunteers, however, we still need to cover our modest ongoing costs for running the party's activities and our communications.  We don't charge dues and we don't seek large donations from corporations; we depend completely on the generosity of members and supporters.  Will you help us with a donation of $50 or $200 or whatever you can?  Please follow this link.

Federal Registration
Last week the Australian Electoral Commission confirmed that we have successfully completed the 30-day notification period and are now officially recognised as a Party and ready to contest in future Federal elections.  Our Federal registration follows our successful registration earlier in the year for NSW elections next March.  The AEC registration page is here.

Victorian Registration
At the end of July we also submitted our application to be registered in Victoria for the upcoming elections in November.
More about the media coverage of our registration is found here.We are now in the process of having our members being verified by the Victorian Electoral Commission.  If you have received a confirmation letter, please sign it and send it back as soon as possible.  We are looking for more members in Victoria to ensure an early registration - please help us if you can.

Call for Candidates
In anticipation of our registration in Victoria we are now seeking a total of 16 candidates to stand for the Australian Cyclists Party.  Having a full slate of candidates will enhance our chance of winning a crucial upper house seat.  For more about what it takes and how to apply please go to this page.

Our Values
In close consultation with our Reference and Experts Panel, the ACP has now published Our Values - a framework to guide our priorities and approach to policy in government across any issue we may encounter.  From initial feedback 95% say they support Our Values, 90% of those strongly support it.  As a valued member, we would like to know what you think by ticking the poll available on the web page.  If you would like to comment or suggest a change, please contact us.

What We Are Saying
The Australian Cyclists Party runs an active Facebook page that seeks to Inform and Inspire.  We cover a broad range of topics.  Some of our members do not subscribe to Facebook and for those members, we run a parallel feed of what we are posting on our own dedicated website page.  We are also experimenting with the online publication of The Australian Cyclists Party Weekly.

Cycling Friendly Community
Recently we also launched the Cycling Friendly Community survey.  With over 800 responses so far we are seeing interesting trends in what defines a cycling friendly community, what people want fixed most and how well LGA's are doing.  One statistic that we would all be concerned about is that about 75% of the respondents would not feel comfortable allowing their kids to cycle to school or local shops.  Please take the survey and let us know what you think.  Full results will be available for our next newsletter.
