Praise God for 2022

2022 started with a beautiful time with our ministry partners, family and friends in the UK and EU. From there, ‘the School of the Word and the Spirit’ with YWAM Scotland launched us powerfully into Malawi and South Central Africa. We feel that God has directed us in this season to focus on getting the right leaders established and training strong healthy leadership teams in South Central Africa (which is Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Angola). To contend for this vision to be established we have felt lead to have a multi-pronged strategy of prayer, training, gathering, visitation, establishing leadership teams and launching new locations.

Prayer

It has been very fruitful to pray with YWAM base and national leaders as we visit- as God reveals areas that had been neglected. These, when brought under His blood, manifested some amazing speedy breakthroughs.

We started prayer times online for all (SCA) South Central Africa national leaders in July 2022

Establishing Teams of Elders

For years God has been moving YWAM away from Directors, where leadership is one person, and into teams of Elders. We have been working with YWAM South Central Africa to set in place teams of Elders to lead. For instance, after a few meetings with YWAM Zimbabwe, we heard God on how to implement this change and they now have a team of Elders representing all YWAM locations in the country and 3 of these elders convene this national team together. Please pray for YWAM Zimbabwe for a new season of blessing and growth that will flow out of this eldership team.

Launching new locations

Our passion is to see the movement of YWAM invigorated and one of the best ways is to let the new wine flow. The new wine in this context is releasing new YWAM visions and locations. In Zimbabwe, we have launched 2 new YWAM locations and now in Zambia, 2 or more are in the pipeline as we say yes to God’s leadership to champion young leaders and new vision.

10,000km across Africa - Telling God’s good news stories

One of the best parts of this last few months and 10,000 km of driving has been to visit again some heroes in the YWAM mission and hear the stories about what God is doing. We had an awesome team with us- some that could lead worship, pray through the attacks over bases, others that coached the leaders or debriefed and trained the staff. We also took an amazing film crew with us that were focused on giving a voice to the bases who had had nobody to tell the amazing good news stories of what God has been doing there. Below is a run down of 11 of the 15+ YWAM locations we visited on this trip. We believe that you will be really encouraged by the beautiful hearts of these YWAM leaders and the awesome things God is doing through them. #1 YWAM Blantyre Malawi

We loved being back for a few months at this base we invested 10+ years of our lives into pioneering and see the amazing work that the YWAM Blantyre leadership and staff are doing. Because of a generous gift we were able to get the big blue truck ready for the trip and refurbish the Jesus Film truck that has seen so many thousands healed and saved over the past 10 years since I first built it. The first movie of the trip that our media team made was of the refurbished Evangelism truck out bringing in the harvest. watch and enjoy the movie we made!

#2 YWAM Zomba Malawi

We found a property to be the permanent home for this radical YWAM discipling community focused on kids, the lost and prostitutes. Pray for them as 1/4 of the £92k for the property has been given already, with 4 years to pay the rest. Discover the base vision in this video

#3 YWAM Dzaleka Malawi

After 6+ years of training the leaders of this base they have launched well with their first DTS running now and this sports ministry taking off among the kids of the camp. Watch the sports ministry video.

#4 YWAM Lusaka Zambia

After years reaching the unreached on an island surrounded by crocodiles the December Family have returned to Lusaka to re-pioneer the base and launch the Hope clinic. You will be encouraged watching this video about the hope Clinic vision.

#5 YWAM Huambo

I then drove 2600km x 2 across Zambia, Namibia and Angola to convene the first in person meeting of the YWAM South Central African Elders since before covid (the other drivers left their licences at home they told me on the way. Wow!) Convening all these awesome leaders was a stretch for me but the presence, authority, blessing and leading of the Holy Spirit was clearly evident as we sought him together at YWAM Huambo Angola. We prayed in new leaders for nations and saw things shift nationally as we prayed. It was in fact the first time that all 5 nations of YWAM south Central have EVER gathered in Angola in 34 years of YWAM there. The national elders flew over from Mozambique and because of this a much deeper connection between the two Portuguese speaking nations was forged with more collaborations to come!

#6 YWAM Mkushi Zambia

This is the new YWAM base in Zambia that Suzy and I are part of championing. Our family will travel to Zambia to join the leaders next year to cover and launch the Discipleship Training School so that this amazing vision can move ahead. #7 YWAM Livingstone Zambia

This was about halfway through our journey when we arrived here. Next year they will launch a musician’s Discipleship Training School. We hope you enjoy watching this invitation video to the YWAM Livingstone Base and see the roaring falls they locally call “the smoke that thunders”.

#8 YWAM Vic Falls Zimbabwe

Heart of Hope is one of those unknown gems in YWAM, a ministry hidden in the northwestern province of Zimbabwe. The massively impactful community development ministry they are engaged in and that we managed to highlight in our short stopover is just the tip of a much broader ministry in many rural areas running training camps. You’ll be as excited as I am when you have watched this video.

#9 YWAM Bulawayo Zimbabwe

The impact into impoverished communities that YWAM ‘Fountain of Hope’ is doing was quite astounding to me, so many community development projects, so much fruit! Watch this movie and discover what God is doing here.

#10 YWAM Gweru Zimbabwe

The highlight of our time with YWAM Gweru was to see Peter & Monika leading their church with great love and anointing. Please pray for them in a tough situation living in a semi-finished home in the midst of the rainy season. Watch the video we made highlighting their work and this need.

#11 Frontier Missions Harare

We believe that Shirley is one of YWAM’s un-sung heroes and is doing a fantastic job in Zimbabwe and across Africa. We had the honour of traveling with her for most of this last trip to work with her as she starts to convene in Zimbabwe. What a joy it has been!
