Hello lovely friends! We are in an exciting season and we are counting down the weeks to the opening of our village school.... If you haven't been able to follow our news on Facebook, here's a few updates....

Opening soon-Chiwaya School!!
The children of Chiwaya village have been walking long distances across a river each day to reach the nearest school. For over 15 years, YWAMers from Chiwaya village have believed God for a school here.
It has been an exciting journey and we are in the final push: with just 2 months and £33,000 to go until we open 'Thantwe Mission Primary School' (School on the Rock) the glass is in all the windows, the retaining walls are almost finished, the steps are being plastered, the yard walls for teachers houses are being built, 1/2 the classroom floors are done, the admin blocks walls are going up and the painting is done for all the classrooms....

 Leadership Development
Course
In May we had the opportunity to run a leadership course for our region of Africa with course leaders flying in from the Netherlands, Senegal, South Africa and Zambia. The course is designed for YWAMers who have been in leadership for 5 years or more and we were able to gather our outreach and ministry leaders together for 6 weeks of learning and growing together. Topics included:
* Understanding your gifts and calling as a leader
* Practical mentoring – Jesus’ style
* Leadership formation and the stages of growth of a leader’s life
* Developing your personal mission statement and ministry philosophy
* Small group dynamics
* Different aspects of Spiritual leadership
* Team building and leadership team development
* Leadership styles with an emphasis on coaching
* Character and spiritual disciplines of the leader
* Conflict resolution and loving confrontation
* Dealing with transition

 Africa Impact DTS
We are over half way through Africa Impact DTS and it’s such a joy to see our staff and students growing in their knowledge and love for God
This weekend, Tom & Sarah who are leading the school took DTS on outreach to visit two students from the last Africa Impact- Dayton and Ethel who lead a church 1.5hrs away from Blantyre. They showed the Jesus Film on Saturday night and hundreds came to watch and hundreds accepted Jesus as their saviour and many were healed so amazing to see how Father loves to use us when we make ourselves available to Him

 Community Centre
The top floor of the community centre was finished just in time for the African Impact DTS to hold their classes there. It is the first time one of our schools has been run in a classroom rather than a tent which feels rather monumental! It also means that classes are taking place upstairs while the community sewing and computer classes keep running downstairs. Below is a picture of the new classroom, and an architects drawings of what the completed centre will look like. The finished community centre will be able to be rented out for weddings and conferences, generating income for YWAM long beyond us being here.

 Walk through the YWAM Epic adventures truck
The epic truck is hosting international ywam teams with ministry trips across Africa. Take a walk through the truck and it’s facilities to see what it’s like to live out of the epic truck
