FIVE WAYS TO OWN IT

Instagram megastar Lele Pons loves her nose job. Transparent star Trace Lysette takes action selfies. Painter Amy Sherald endorses blooming late. Anchor Christiane Amanpour wears a uniform. And artist Barbara Kruger has no advice. But she has so much insight.

Every day this week, one of these brilliant, badass women tells me how she owns it online. It’s No Filter, our partnership with New York Magazine’s The Cut.

Listen to Note to Self

There’s only one person missing from this series. YOU. Who is YOUR digital self? Tell us about her. One listener, Rachel, says her digital self is sunnier and happier - and that’s on purpose.

WHO ARE YOU ONLINE

How do you portray yourself? For real, I want to know. It’s SO EASY to send us a message. You can record right in your browser, on mobile or desktop. Or record a voice memo on your phone and email it to us.

GET YOUR DATA

The Cambridge Analytica fallout continues - I talked to NPR's All Things Considered about the unfolding scandal, and how I got my own data from CA. Here’s how you can request yours. Friend-of-N2S David Carroll has been preparing a lawsuit against the company, as we mentioned in our November episode - that case took a big step forward last week. David wants to know what data CA has about him, and how it’s being used. Don’t we all? Oh, and Cambridge Analytica is also being sued for violations of U.S. election law. Little cherry on top of that whole thing.

STAY WITH US

Next week, we’re back on Wednesday with The Cut’s Stella Bugbee. And one more woman living with no filter: Jasmyn Lawson. Whose work at Giphy makes sure all of us are heard, seen and looped. Even me.

#ownit,

Manoush
