This week, Museum School Students in grades K-5 will take part in the Great Kindness Challenge. This is a time where students are encouraged to demonstrate kindness with their words and actions. Through lessons and morning messages students will learn ways they can show kindness and are encouraged to demonstrate those acts in their daily lives. This year, students will participate in creating a kindness mural. Each student will be given a puzzle piece to illustrate what kindness means to them.
We would love your support. Please use the checklist to demonstrate random acts of kindness in your home and community. Together we can do our part to spread kindness.

SERVICE LEARNING PROJECT
Immigration Perspectives
This quarter, 2nd grade is doing a service learning project around the ongoing refugee situation at the southern US border. Students are learning from community members who work with support programs, but would also love to have the perspective of any TMS community members who are immigrants to the US who would be willing to come to the school (or zoom in) and talk to our students about their experiences immigrating to our country, what they think is needed to respond to the current migrant/refugee crisis, and what kids can do that is meaningful to support those trying to seek asylum in our country.
Anyone interested in this opportunity can email 2nd grade teacher catherine.eisel-elder@themuseumschool.org coordinate details.

Seeking TMS Mascot Input and Ideas
Hello TMS Students- We Need Your Input as we start the process of creating a visual character for our mascot- The Explorer. Your input and ideas will help go into the design of our future mascot character! When thinking about your character- consider what it means to be an Explorer at TMS. What does the Explorer stand for and how can it represent all of the students at TMS, as well as our Core Values? For more information, check out the flyer. We look forward to hearing and seeing your thoughts. Please submit ideas by midnight, February 19, to https://forms.gle/o5SBGeFVSyKFpe8Q7. All participants who submit an idea will receive a small token of appreciation.
