Dear Families,
Welcome to the second week of the second semester! I want to give you a heads up that we will be having a lockdown drill this week. These important drills help us to ensure that we are able to quickly take key safety measures should the need arise. I know that often students come home and share about events at the school, so I wanted you to know that we are performing a drill in advance to lower any alarms.
At the start of October we will be holding our next caregiver conferences. Soon you will receive information about signing up for your caregiver conferences from your child's classroom teacher.
As a reminder, beginning January 17th the carpool lane will close after 8:00. If you are tardy, you will need to park and escort your student to the door. We open the doors beginning at 7:30, which should provide ample time to arrive to school on time. Most days the carpool lane is pretty light all the way up until 7:45.
I hope that you enjoy the remainder of your weekend and look forward to seeing you in the morning.
Sincerely,
Mike
Mike Stewart

TMS Staff Appreciation Fund!
Thanks to those who have contributed to the annual TMS Staff Appreciation Fund! At the holiday break, we were able to provide the staff with a lunch from Raging Burrito, desserts from Southern Sweets, and $100 in cash to spend during the holidays. This was all possible thanks to your generous donations! This fund will also support Staff Appreciation May 8-12, 2023. During that week, we will provide the staff with many special events and feed them throughout the week. In order to do so at the highest level, we set a goal of $15,000 for the TMS Staff Appreciation Fund. We are currently at $13,000! So, if you have not had a chance to donate yet, we can still use your help. Keep in mind- any additional funds over our goal will go directly to the teachers to enhance Staff Appreciation Week. To donate, click here.

Book Return
Let's start the new year with a clean library record! Please look around your homes for any TMS library books and send them in with your student. Ask your students - even middle schoolers! - what they have checked out from the library and where those books are. Then have them put them in their backpacks to return to school. Students are welcome to renew books that they are still reading. Thank you for your help in keeping our books circulating!
