The Role of an Ingate E-SBC

With SIP, VoIP calls can be routed to a degree that was never possible with traditional telephony. The challenge, though, is protecting the network from an untrusted network.

Ingate SIParator® enterprise session border controllers (E-SBCs) sit at the edge of the network to provide control over the SIP traffic. They’re the only SBC with a native firewall to protect SIP-based voice networks.

Ingate SIParators:
Normalize the SIP signaling between the customer’s IP-PBX and the service provider’s network. Interoperability also allows service providers to support more IP-PBXs, or IP-PBXs not yet certified by the ITSP.

Resolve NAT traversal issues. Without this function, most companies will have one-way audio only.

Provide security through:
•    Deep packet inspection (DPI)
•    Intrusion detection/prevention (IDS/IPS) systems
•    Rate-based rules to detect flooding or DoS attacks
•    Brute force detection
•    Encryption
