Papua New Guinea Agritourism Policy Setting Workshop 2018

Caribbean Week of Agriculture 2018: Strengthening agriculture for a healthier future in the region

The Government of Barbados hosts the 15th Caribbean Week of Agriculture (CWA) under the theme: “Caribbean Week of Agriculture 2018: Strengthening agriculture for a healthier future in the region”. This regional event provides a forum for Ministers of Agriculture, planners, regional organisations and other key agricultural stakeholders in the public and private sectors of the Region, to meet to discuss major issues affecting the agricultural sector in the region.
Catalysing actionable knowledge to enhance next-generation ACP agribusiness through digitalisation

For the past eight years, CTA and its partners have implemented various projects and other activities designed to improve and enhance agribusiness and value chain performance in ACP countries through the application of information and communication technologies and digitalisation more generally. To inform future and ongoing investment in this area, CTA is convening an "experience capitalisation" activity as part of a series of processes, working with partners and experts to take stock of the key insights and synthesise lessons from what really works for next-generation ACP agriculture and rural development practice and policies.

The Research Data Alliance (RDA) holds its plenary meetings every six months at different locations around the world. Built around the RDA Working and Interest Group meetings the sessions are designed to consolidate the RDA’s work and that of its interest groups in building social and technological bridges towards open data sharing. This plenary meeting is held during the International Data Week 2018 in Botswana. Each day of the meeting features an inspiring and engaging range of activities.

The world is facing unprecedented global challenges that affect the sustainability of food and agriculture systems, and thus the livelihoods of millions of family farmers worldwide. These challenges pose serious threats to achieving the right to adequate food and the fundamental right of everyone to be free from hunger. More food will be needed to feed a growing population and, in order to meet sustainability goals, the bulk of this increase must come from family farming.
CTA is a joint international institution of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States and the European Union (EU). CTA operates under the framework of the Cotonou Agreement and is funded by the EU.
