TETRAMAX Newsletter, May 2020

Dear Colleague,

Once more, the past quarter brought exciting news for TETRAMAX. We have successfully passed the 2nd EC review in March, so the project team can now fully concentrate again on major activities such as our final open calls for technology transfer experiments (TTX).

Despite the Covid-19 crisis, an all-time high (40+) was achieved in proposal submissions for the last call for Bilateral TTX. Fortunately, thanks to some leftover budgets, this time we will be able to grant more new TTX than usual. The final open call again targets Entrepreneurial TTX, see www.tetramax.eu for details, or just contact opencalls@tetramax.eu.

I´m also proud of the steadily growing business impact of the TETRAMAX support on our partners and clients. This newsletter highlights a few recent success stories concerning new products, customers, and investments.

Last but not least, you are cordially invited to attend HiPEAC´s ACACES summer school in July. For the first time, it will be held online and for free. Next to outstanding technical lectures, it will feature again a TETRAMAX track with business-oriented courses delivered by top-level speakers.

Best wishes!

TETRAMAX OPEN CALLS

4th and last TETRAMAX call for entrepreneurial transfer experiments launched

The call for entrepreneurial transfer experiments was launched on 30 April 2020, and the submission deadline for application is set on 31 July 2020.  Do you have a great idea, and could you use some support in exploring and evaluating the market and build a sustainable business plan? TETRAMAX can help! Have a look at the details.

4 experiments granted after the 3rd Open Call for Bilateral TTX

TETRAMAX is pleased to present 4 new experiments, granted after the 3rd open call for bilateral technology transfer experiments:
  1. Self leArNing Tank mOnitoring system (SANTO),
  2. An innovative RAINfall monitoring solution based on the combined use of microWAVE links and radar (RAINWAVE),
  3. Distributed Ledger Technology Based Collaborative Robotics for a Low-Energy Machine Economy in Manufacturing Environments (CORONA),
  4. Low-Voltage FPGA-based Embedded Deep Learning for Improving Energy Efficiency (LV-EmbeDL)

Successful outcome of the 4th open call for Bilateral TTX!

TETRAMAX was blown away by a record number of 41 applications for the 4th open call for Bilateral TTX!

Meet RAMSES and MEATRACK

These 2 experiments have been selected by a panel of experts out of 13 applications for the 4th open call for value chain oriented and interdisciplinary technology transfer experiments.  RAMSES or Rfid for Advanced Medical SEnSing is a cooperation between the University of Salento, Italy, Poliklinika Bagatin,Serbia, ION Solutions doo, Croatia, and the National Research Council, Italy.  The MEATRACK experiment is implementing miniature gas sensors for real time tracking of ‘meat freshness’ in refrigerators to reduce food wastage and health risks for consumers. This project is a collaboration between Aix Marseille University, France, NVISION Systems and Technologies,Spain, Sensing & Control Systems S.L, Spain, and NANOZ S.A.S., France. Read more

Meet SANTO

SANTO is a TTX collaboration between the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, and KAPITEL D GmbH, Austria, and already well on its way. The project started on 1 April and its aim is to enable low-cost digitisation and self-calibration of mobile tank systems via a one-size-fits-all sensor solution that evolves from the UAM Diesel sensing microsystem technology. Meet ANDREAS

ANDREAS (Artificial intelligence traiNing scheDuler foR disaggrEgAted resource clusterS) aims at addressing two key needs in the market: efficiency for the usage of resources and reduction of power consumption. Today, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep Learning (DL) methods are used for a wide range of applications, and supported by several HW and SW platforms.  Read more

BLEeper utilizes low-cost water-proof Bluetooth beacons across the target areas (land and on coastal water buoys) that facilitate high-accuracy location tracking services for children equipped with any type of low-cost Bluetooth wearable (e.g. wristbands, life-vests). A pilot system based on more than 10 low-cost Bluetooth beacons has been successfully tested, paving the way for larger setups to be deployed across the beaches of Chania, Crete and Greece. Techmo's technology implemented in voicebot

TECHMO proudly announces that Sprint S.A. has implemented 'Voicebot' at Vectra using Techmo technologies. Vectra is the largest cable television operator in Poland. They serve over 1.7 million customers and 2,000 localities in Poland. 'Voicebot' was created thanks to Techmo technology such as Techmo ASR (Speech recognition) and Techmo TTS (Speech synthesis).  Currently, 'Voicebot' handles 15,000 requests per month! And this is just the beginning. This is another successful collaboration by TECHMO and Sprint.
