Washington Tree Farm Fall Forestry Seminars
The Washington Tree Farm Program hosts two different series of Fall Forestry Seminars—Sept. 10 and 11 for western Washington forest owners and partners; and Sept. 9, 16, and 23 for eastern Washington. The westside session explores stand dynamics, and includes a presentation on early-stage forest and their management; a talk on thinning strategies in older forests; and farm tours in Chehalis and Oakville. The eastside theme is disturbance fundamentals, with talks on the natural history of the region, salvaging timber, fire and smoke issues, and climate change.
Fall hybrid forestry short course for NE Washington
The hybrid Northwest Washington Coached Planning Forest Stewardship Shortcourse runs Sept. 20 through Nov. 17, 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. The course is being held both in-person and as an online option; $100.
Sustainable Small-Scale Farming and Ranching course
Co-sponsored by WSU Snohomish County Extension, this 12-week course gives participants a broad overview of production and marketing options for today’s small farm. Runs Tuesday evenings, Sept. 21 through Dec. 7. It's part of the Cultivating Success series, helping connect new farmers with established ones. |
