Human Rights in Iran
A talk by Amnesty's Oscar Jenz
On Thursday 8 October at 7.30pm

Oscar Jenz is Amnesty International UK's Country Coordinator for Iran and the United Arab Emirates. He works on UK and international campaigns in these countries and supports local groups with their activism. He has been in his role for three years and has a decade of experience in human rights activism.

Iran regularly makes headlines for its volatile human rights record, most prominently when it comes to the use of the death penalty and the arrests of British-Iranian dual citizens such as Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe. However, the headlines offer only a very narrow glimpse into what the human rights situation in Iran actually looks like.

This talk will give an overview of the human rights situation in Iran, highlight the work of prominent Iranian human rights defenders, and outline what you can do to support Iranian human rights defenders in their tireless work for justice and accountability.

There will be time for questions after the talk so we look forward to you joining us on Thursday 8 October at 7.30pm.
Another talk on Thursday 12 November will feature Paul Bridges on Amnesty's Anti-Death Penalty campaign since 10 November is the World Day Against the Death Penalty
We hope you will join us.. To join a meeting, just email me at  and I will send you the link.

Keep Safe
Best wishes
