Thanks to the generous support of Fundación Cisneros/Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, CIMAM offers four grants to support the attendance of modern and contemporary art museum directors and curators from Latin America with special priority to professionals residing in Central America and the Caribbean to CIMAM’s 2015 Annual Conference, How Global can Museums be? that will be held in Tokyo, 7–9 November 2015.

Application Form

ElegibilityGrants are restricted to modern and contemporary art museum directors and curators residing in Latin America with priority to Central America and the Caribbean region in need of financial help to attend CIMAM’s Annual Conference. Researchers and independent curators whose field of research and specialization is contemporary art theory and museums are also eligible. While curators of all career levels are encouraged to apply, priority is given to junior curators (less than 10 years’ experience). Applicants having received CIMAM grants from the same grant contributor will not be considered for a new grant before 3 years. 
Purpose of the grant
The support is limited to cover conference registration*, travel expenses (round trip economy tickets only) and accommodation in one of the hotels recommended by CIMAM. Distribution of funds is set on a case-by-case basis for each recipient. Funds are exclusively related to support the purpose for which the grant has been awarded.

*Conference registration includes access to all conference sessions, workshops, conference lunches, dinners, refreshment breaks, access to organized visits and coach service to and from planned visits. All registered delegates also receive a copy of the conference program and a courtesy tote bag. Funds will not cover registration and expenses related with the post-conference tour.
Application Process
Candidates are invited to complete an online application form and include a CV, a short biography and two letters of recommendation by professionals or scholars who are familiar with the candidate's qualifications.

Selection ProcessTravel grant applications are evaluated by the CIMAM Travel Grant Committee consisting of the President of CIMAM and eight members of the Board together with the Fundación Cisneros/Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros

Fellowships are conferred based on the assessment of the professional’s genuine financial need, the potential benefit to his development and/or research and the relevance of field experience in relation to the objectives of CIMAM.
