Members of CIMAM* are invited to present their nominations for the CIMAM Board Elections for the 2016-2019 period.
The Board of CIMAM consists of a President, a Secretary-Treasurer and at least 10 other members elected by CIMAM Membership. The number of Board members should not exceed 15. The members of the Board work on a volunteer basis throughout the three-year term. They oversee the everyday operations and activities of CIMAM.
During their tenure, the members of the Board are in constant contact through
e-mail conversations that are coordinated by the executive team of CIMAM. They review new membership applications, advocacy issues as well as funding opportunities and suggestions designed to contribute to the Committee’s global development. Board meetings are held at least twice a year to discuss the general status of CIMAM, including the update of Membership, financial statements and the process of the Annual Conference, among many other issues. The Board is also encouraged to attend the Annual Conference each year and to actively participate by leading the different sessions and panel discussions proposed.
Any CIMAM voting member is an eligible candidate to the new Board*. The nomination period runs through 31 July 2016. CIMAM will publish the list of candidates to the new Board 2017–2019 by 15 September 2016. CIMAM Members may vote for their representatives online throughout October and November 2016.
The newly elected Board along with the outgoing Board will elect the new President during a special session. The members of the new Board 2017–2019 will be announced at the General Assembly on Sunday 20 November 2016 in Barcelona.
*CIMAM voting members are those who have paid their 2014-2016 CIMAM membership fees.

CIMAM 2016 Annual ConferenceMuseum and Its Responsibilities

The three-day program includes visits to MACBA: Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, CaixaForum: Cultural Centre of “la Caixa” Banking Foundation in Barcelona, the Fundació Joan Miró, the Fundació Antoni Tàpies, Hangar, Fabra i Coats Barcelona Center of Contemporary Art, the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion, the MNAC: National Art Museum of Catalonia and the Foto Colectania Foundation.
The Annual Conference is generously supported by the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Barcelona City Council, AC/E (Spain's Public Agency for Cultural Action), AECID (the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation), the Institut Ramón Llull (Promoting Catalan Culture Abroad) and the CCCB: Center for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona.
Post-conference tour to
San Sebastian, Bilbao and Santander
21-22 November 2016
A post-conference tour for a maximum of 60 people has been organized for conference delegates wishing to to enable a comprehensive overview of the professional context and the diversity of the regional institutions. Visits include the main contemporary art institutions and art centers in San Sebastian, Bilbao and Santander.
