CONFERENCES/EVENTS

Going for Growth Summer School: Dundee, 22-25 June

Come and learn more about mission and leadership in 21st century Scotland.  The conference is open to all - ministers and others, Church of Scotland and beyond - who are passionate about mission and the future of God's Church.  This is part of a three-year initial programme, encouraging the church to explore what it means to be part of God's people in Scotland at this time, engaging at a local level (Going for Growth events and Fresh Expressions Vision Days) and gathering together for an annual encounter (Summer School) to take things further.

Main speakers:
Phil Potter is the Archbishops' Missioner and Leader of the Fresh Expressions team. As well as leading the team and implementing the overall strategic aims, Phil is involved in continuing to develop Church of England policy to allow fresh expressions of church to flourish.
George Lings has directed the Church Army Research Unit since 1997, where his focus is ecclesiology and the re-imagination of Church.  Previously a curate and vicar for 22 years, he served on the working party producing the 1994 church planting report Breaking New Ground. George later wrote large parts of the 2004 publication, Mission-shaped Church, which has had a seminal effect in several continents.
Doug Gay was licensed in Glasgow by the Church of Scotland in 1994, ordained in London by the United Reformed Church in 1996 and returned to the Church of Scotland in 2005.  He was appointed as Lecturer in Practical Theology in October 2005 and as Principal of Trinity College, Glasgow,  in 2011.  Doug is the author of several books, including Alternative Worship and Remixing the Church.

£300 for accommodation (full board).  Â£170 without accommodation.
