You're Invited!

Calling all Political Science students! The Department of Political Science invites you to the Inaugural Welcome Reception on Wednesday, September 10th at 5:00 pm at the Faculty Club in the Grand Lounge on campus. We want to welcome you back to Ohio State and give you a chance to socialize with our students and faculty in the department. Student organizations including Collegiate Council on World Affairs, Mock Trial, Journal of Politics and International Affairs will be available to answer questions and let you know how you can get involved. Come catch up with old friends, meet new friends, and learn about the courses you will be taking next semester from the faculty who teach them! There will be free food throughout the event. 

Political Science Major Interns for Irish Government and Fox News

Political science major Caroline Keyes had the amazing opportunity to be a part of the Dublin Internship Program in Dublin, Ireland this past summer. She worked in the press office for the Minister Leo Varadkar where she helped with press events, conferences, interviews, and photo-shoots. To read more about Caroline's story visit her page

Student Travels the World Teaching Model UN

Erik Leiden, the Collegiate Council on World Affairs President and a fourth year political science major, had an amazing summer traveling the world and gaining invaluable experiences teaching Model UN and learning about campaign management. To find out more about Erik's summer click here

Incoming Freshman Interns as Campaign Manager

As an incoming freshman majoring in political science, Kelly Harrop has already begun making her mark in the political world. During this past summer, Kelly had the opportunity to work as a campaign manager for candidate David Hogan. Sciences Po, Study Abroad


Looking to study abroad? Apply for the Sciences Po study abroad program by September 17. Sciences Po is a highly competitive and diverse French university that specializes in the humanities and social sciences. Located in the heart of Paris, the campus is nestled just a short walking distance from the Seine River and major attractions such as Notre Dame de Paris, the Grand Palais, the Panthéon, and the Assemblée Nationale. Sciences Po offers courses in political science, economics, history, sociology, law, finance, business, communication, social and urban policy, management and journalism. Most of the classes are taught in English.

Sciences Po has over 11,000 students and almost half are international. Matthew Kaido, Staff Assistant to Congressman Patrick J. Tiberi

“In June I began working as a Staff Assistant to Congressman Patrick J. Tiberi (OH-12) in his Washington, D.C. office. Congressman Tiberi, an OSU Alumnus, sits on the House Ways & Means Committee, which is central to all federal revenue measures, national social security programs, and trade agreements. Congressman Tiberi also chairs the Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures.” To read more about Matt's story click here.

Alexandra Mayorga, Graduate Student at Princeton University

Alexandra Mayorga, a recent political science graduate, will be starting graduate school this fall at Princeton University where she will focus further on the study of politics. As an undergraduate, Alexandra completed an honors thesis where she investigated the cross roads of welfare policy and immigration. She had decided on this particular topic during her study abroad in Denmark. She hopes to continue this research at Princeton. To read more about Alexandra's story click here.
