2017 AWARD WINNERS NAMED

On March 15, 2017, the Turning The Tide Board announced the winners of the inaugural Marine Industry Awards. The first of their kind, these awards will recognize leaders, innovators, and milestones in the ocean-based industries that have been central to the province’s economy and culture.

The recipient of the Industry Leadership and Excellence Award is PAL Aerospace. Their attention to quality and innovation impacts every sector of our marine industry, as they provide airborne maritime surveillance, search and assistance, ice and environmental services, and more.

Pat Quinlan, Co-founder and President of the Quinlan Brother Ltd., was named as the winner of the Industry Lifetime Achievement Award. His lifelong commitment to his business, the fishing industry, and our province is remarkable, making him very deserving of this award.

Finally, in the category of Historic Marine Significance,  Battle Harbour was recognized for its notable legacy in our province. Once a bustling salt fishing community, the town has been restored to honour its history and provide a unique tourism experience.

Join us on April 5th to support the winners as they are presented with their awards, and help us celebrate their achievements and lasting impact on our marine industry.
