In this issue... next Friday's Casablanca Ubu Night... our week long school holiday programme 'The Gym Games' Oct 3-7... a springtime Latino Market... and hiring The Gym to create spectacular special events... read on for details....
Round up the usual suspects. Join Ubu and his friends at Rick’s Bar in The Gym in The Arts Centre for Casablanca Ubu Night. Sit back in the shadows and remember for old times sake. A Moroccan night where the music turns from blues to noir. If you don't go, you'll regret it, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life.
Inspired by the recent Rio Olympics and the upcoming Heritage Week organised by CCC, we're developing our next Holiday Programme to engage with the stories and quirks of The Gym.
Did you know you can hire The Gym for performances and special events? As a performance space we can help you create a special environment for your event that is quite unlike anything else in town. Around our central performance programme, festivals and workshops, we've hosted corporate events, wedding receptions, AGMs and private functions. If you're interested, take a look at The Gym website www.thegym.org.nz and contact: firstname.lastname@example.org. Recently The Gym has seen a season of Ragtime with students of Ara Institute's Nasda programme (see image above), the Deloitte Fast50 Awards, and the launch of CSO's upcoming season.
We're teaming up with the Aotearoa Hispanic Association again for a spring-time Latino Market on November 5. This follows a fun and successful winter Latino Market at The Gym in August, which featured performances, food stalls and special Latino cocktails at Ubu's Bar.
