February Recap
SHPE SD GBM, February 18, 2022
We had a grand opportunity of having LPL FINANCIAL present to our team.
We had a great turnout from members at large in this meeting. Ana Reyes had a great session showcasing LPL FINANCIAL and the opportunities it offers for internships and entry level positions. Great to learn more about Fintech jobs in this sector!!!
Everyone who was able to join us... THANK YOU!!! We hope you had a great time and look forward to your continued participation and collaboration in future events.
SHPE SD w/ SHPE SDSU, February 12, 2022
We had a grand opportunity of collaborating and supporting SHPE SDSU in their annual high school conference. This was the first one after a TWO (2) year hiatus due to COVID.
SHPE SD Professional President (Lazaro Herrera) provided Keynote/opening words to kickoff the event.
The professional Board had the opportunity to be present and provide support for the professional panel held during the event. We secured VP (Microsoft), Director (Pacira), Supervisor (Georgia Tech Labs), Senior Engineer (General Atomics-ASI).
Student & parent attendees had the opportunity to meet & greet university students, various SDSU orgs and professionals alike.

We participated in collaboration with San Diego County Engineering Council (SDCEC) by showcasing with the Engineering Community about SHPE. Making new connections and greeting old connections. Professionals and students alike had the opportunity to enjoy this terrific event!!!

Hola!!! We are beginning to see a light out of this dark tunnel... COVID is not going away from what information we all hear so we must learn from our SHPE core values: FAMILIA, SERVICE, EDUCATION & RESILIENCE!!
This time let's focus on our RESILENCE & FAMILIA core values!!!
We are resilient because despite all the hardships we have been dealing with so far, strength has been within us one way or another. We definitely have shown ourselves that we endure and support each other in many ways. As March 2022 comes we begin to see signs of hope with the arrival of spring!!
That sense of Familia for all of us comes in many ways and you should all know that SHPEfamilia is here for you. Not going to sugar coat it....we do argue, disagree and have difference of opinion.... BUT...when we need support someone is always there to lend a helping hand "all you need to do is ask!!"
To all our AWESOME WOMEN out there... HAPPY WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH!!!
Once again, we do need your help and support to continue moving forward as the strong organization that we have always been. I know that "zoomitis" is a real thing but at the moment is the best and safest method that we have to meet and be together.

Our minimum requirements for all scholarships are as follows:
*Active SHPE Member (To become an active member, please visit shpe.org and select “Join” in the top right hand corner of the webpage.)
*Minimum Cumulative GPA: 2.75 (This is a cumulative GPA as listed on the transcript of your latest academic institution.)
*Plan to pursue a STEM degree
*Attending an academic institution in the United States or Puerto Rico
