Tamar Vered had a successful career for many years in Israel as a clinical trials manager in the pharmaceutical industry. After she moved with her family moved to the US, Tamar started to expand her knowledge about the connection between dietary habits, food ingredients and health. She deeply cares about maintaining a healthy life, and through experimentation learned that eliminating gluten based ingredients and products from the diet helps one feel more energetic. This led to a decision to minimize the consumption of gluten based products in her diet.
Tamar loves desserts as part of a formal meal, picnic or snack. She was not able to find a fresh, high quality cookie for her coffee when she went out to coffee shops. Being an avid baker, Tamar started exploring how to prepare sweet desserts without gluten. When she started to receive positive feedback from friends on her flourless desserts, Tamar decided it was time to combine her passion for healthy life and baking to offer her products to everyone. She founded Flourless Goodies™ in 2014.
The mission of Flourless Goodies is to create gluten-free gourmet desserts of uncompromised quality and creativity, using only the finest ingredients, and maintaining the highest standards. Current offerings are Almond Cookies, Chocolate Truffles, Chocolate Coconut Balls, and Energy Goodies, made of dates and almonds.
Flourless Goodies sources their eggs, butter and whipping cream locally from Smith Brothers Farms. Chocolate is either Ghirardelli or Guittard.
Tamar's energetic commitment to excellence extends beyond the kitchen. She continues to enrich her education by taking nutrition related classes in Bellevue College and Bastyr University. Tamar has recently completed Certified Gluten Practitioner training. As an avid athlete, she regularly takes part in sport activities such as yoga lessons and 5K runs.
