Cremazen Coffee Roasting Company is a micro roaster located in the foothills of the Cascades on the outskirts of Monroe. Founded in late 2010 by Jerry and Kristie Higgins, Cremazen has been available on, with business growing by word of mouth. During the past year Jerry and Kristie began selling coffee at markets, and we are happy to have them as a late season addition to Duvall Farmer’s Market. Cremazen offers free samples as a try-before-you-buy convenience. Their Festival Blend is popular in some local espresso shops.

Jerry and Kristie seek out high quality Arabica coffee with unique flavor profiles from Central and South America, Indonesia, and Africa. By tasting many coffees via a careful sample roasting and a strict cupping protocol, they are able to compare and select only the best to offer in the form of single origin, or as a key component of their signature Festival Blend.

When they roast coffee they endeavor to bring out the best in each particular bean, emphasizing what makes that coffee special. Coffee starts its journey from a region where plant, soil, altitude, shade and climate all factor into its development. It is tended by caring farmers until ripe, picked and the taken either to a collective wash station, like most African coffee, or processed and dried on a single farm. After selecting the right one, Cremazen assures the rest of the journey, from precise roasting to a hot steaming cup brings out the best in a wonderful bean, and hopefully brings out a smile.

Conversation over coffee has been a popular method of discourse since the 15th century and it continues to be today. Like good music, coffee brings together like minds, family, friends and colleagues. Good coffee enhances life’s experiences in a special way. As a locally family owned company, Jerry and Kristie Higgins pursue their passion, and Cremazen is crafted with love.
