Duvall Farmers market is pleased to welcome one of Snoqualmie Valley's newest farms, Green Fields Farm.

Green Fields Farm is a second year farm, first planted in 2014 by Bob and Denise Bois. The Experience Farming Project of SnoValley Tilth provided a half acre of leased land along with mentorship and peer guidance. The Experience Farming Project is a small farm incubator project which provides those interested and qualified with an opportunity to try their hand at small acreage sustainable farming. Most of the participants are experienced growers glad to have the opportunity to work for themselves.

Experience Farming Project land primarily is located at Stuart's Landing about 3 miles north of Carnation city limits, in the valley off highway 203. It was once pasture for an old Carnation dairy farm. The land lay fallow for many years until the owners teamed up with SnoValleyTilth to create the project.

Bob farms while Denise keeps the roof over their heads. A former insurance adjuster, Bob had no experience farming, only a love for gardening at home, and a desire to expand that garden into a farm.
They were fortunate to be able to purchase a home on 19 acres in the valley this past winter. The early season items were grown there. The plan is to grow all future crops on their new farmland beginning in 2016. The newly purchased land previously was conventionally farmed. Green Fields Farm grows without the use of synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides.

In his second season growing for market, Bob is very happy to bring his produce to Duvall Farmers Market on Thursdays. He anticipates being at our market most weeks. He also sells his produce at the Carnation Farmers Market, in a shared booth with fellow EFP farmers from Stuart's Landing.
