A Message from Our Founder

This year, The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation celebrated our 5th Anniversary. I can’t thank you enough for the part you’ve played as a volunteer, participant in, and/or general supporter to the Foundation. We’ve got big goals; and it’s thanks to you that we’ve been able to accomplish so much so quickly.

Our kids need more than role models; they need us to step up to help them reach their potential. We have all stood where they are now, and I bet we can all think of a person or a support system that helped us push harder to get where we were going. Now, we have the chance to be those people. I started the Foundation to give back to the communities that raised me up, and I hope you’ll stick with us as we take The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation to the next level.

Get Ready Fest™- Philadelphia

On Friday, July 10, Get Ready Fest™ volunteers and incredible partners like Feed the Children and PepsiCo gathered at Gilbert Spruance Elementary School in Philadelphia to lend a helping hand to hundreds of our neighbors in Northeast Philadelphia. The festive event provided food and personal care products, as well as education and career services to hundreds of families in need.

For a young makeup artist who moved from New York City, the donation meant being able to stay close to her family while she gets on her feet. For Gloria, a recent immigrant from Ghana, it was a greatly appreciated birthday present.

Amongst chants of ‘E-A-G-L-E-S, EAGLES!’ a few of our younger guests even predicted a Super Bowl win for Malcolm and the team. Giving back IS good karma!

(And the opportunity to win an NFL signature football signed by Malcolm!) Make your mark by coming up with a name that creatively depicts who we are, what we do and how we impact youth, families and communities.

To enter, ‘like’ The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation on Facebook and share your suggestion. Is Twitter more your speed? Submit your idea for a newsletter title to @TheMJFoundation using the #TMJF hashtag. You have from now until the end of August. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Eagles Eye Mobile and Book Mobile

Have you spotted the newest addition to the Philadelphia Eagles Eye Mobile and Eagles Book Mobile? “Keep an eye out” for Malcolm Jenkins’ photo on the mobile health and education stations!

It’s an honor to be a part of this initiative bringing vital services to some of Philadelphia’s hardest to reach children.

Congratulations Malcolm Jenkins Scholars
Class of 2015!

It takes more than academic potential to succeed in college and in life. That's why in May, for the fourth year, The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation presented twelve (12) New Orleans high school seniors with $1,000 scholarships, as part of the Foundation's Project R.E.W.A.R.D.S. (Reinforcing Education with Activities, Recreation, and Developmental Supports) program. The graduation of the 2015 Malcolm Jenkins Scholars marks the fourth year that the Foundation has helped deserving youth pursue their higher educational aspirations at an accredited college or university of their choice. Scholarships were awarded in the categories of Most Improved, High Academic Achievement, and Overcoming Adversity. Great accomplishments lie ahead!

Youth Football Camp Hits the 'Next Level'

The 4th Annual Malcolm Jenkins Foundation Next Level Youth Football Camp soared to new heights June 19 and 20 at Piscataway High School in Piscataway, New Jersey, filling all 400 free spots a week before opening the doors! As the young athletes, boys and girls, laced up their cleats for football drills that tested their agility and strength, they also found inspiration in pep talks about responsibility, leadership, and safety. Thanks to everyone who made it possible, including the NFL Pro players who donated their time:

Jahri Evans (New Orleans Saints), Mark Sanchez (Philadelphia Eagles), Jon Dorenbos (Philadelphia Eagles), Vinny Curry (Philadelphia Eagles), Jordan Matthews (Philadelphia Eagles), Reggie Jones (New Orleans Saints, Former), Kyle Wilson (New Orleans Saints), and Isa Abdul Quddus (Detroit Lions).

Malcolm delivers a few 'Baskets of Hope'

On April 30, Malcolm and fellow teammate, Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Mark Sanchez, demonstrated true teamwork - not just on the field, but by delivering hope, love and inspiration to seriously ill children and their families at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. Along with a team of Foundation volunteers, the two personally delivered 140 Baskets of Hope filled with age-appropriate toys, games, and other items to the young patients, as well as Hope Totes filled with inspirational gifts for their parents.

Thanks to support from The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation and other sponsors, more than $1,000,000 worth of items were packed in more than 4,000 Baskets of Hope and and Hope Totes in Glendale, Arizona during Super Bowl week. With support from FedEx, the baskets and totes were shipped to more than 20 hospitals in NFL team cities nationwide. We were excited to have Mark join us, and share this meaningful opportunity to give back!
