2017 Fall CSA Ends Oct 15th

As the CSA season winds down it's time to stock up on veggies you love, particularly those that will store well for a few months. Garlic featured above will last until next spring if kept in a cool, dark, space. Check with your farmer and see what she or he may have to sell you in a bulk order. In addition, your favorite restaurant, cafe, school, wellness studio...businesses and institutions that may be interested in bulk order veggies that are sustainably and locally grown.

Don't forget to purchase your CSA share for the 2018 season. If you purchase your CSA share (s) before Dec. 31st, 2017 you will lock in 2017 prices!

October Clean & Glean Event at 5 Story Hill Farm in Dunbarton Oct. 25

Clean & Glean day is October 25 at 10 am.
Time to pick up plastic, round up tools, and prepare to put the garden to sleep for the winter. This is an excellent time to learn about cover cropping, soil health, and how winter is a gift to farm soils. This is a great way to help our farmers prepare the farm for spring. Farming doesn't end when the veggies stop growing. In order for our farmers to offer you the most nutrient dense foods they must carefully build the soil over time. Each season finds different needs to build up the healthiest of soils. Ohealth is deeply enmeshed in soil health; all the nutrients, minerals, vitamins in our veggies come from the carefully tended soil of our farmers.
Gleaning helps save food, providing veggies for soup kitchens and community suppers. Cleaning the fields of plastic and other by-products of seasonal farming helps prepare the fields for cover cropping and rest. Don't miss a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the cycles of farming while helping our farmers. You can't lose!

We are still planning our Farmers Dinner for February.
