Grandfriends & GrandParents Day - Postponed
The beloved grandfriends/grandparents day is postponed this year but, watch for updates about a future event and "gathering."  We're glad to hear that many students are connecting with their senior friends remotely!

Elementary School Note...
Welcome to the end of another week of school. We’ve sure appreciated the feedback you’ve given us via your class teachers. Through you and your student, we’ve seen success and accomplishment, and are sharing in the areas of growth and challenge. There have been some real highlights as we’ve found ways to connect through learning, and we’re looking forward to more in the coming days. This week, if you have a child in our student services department, you should have heard from someone regarding a support plan. If you’re still looking for that, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I think we’re all doing what we can, but as this has gone on, we know that there are those for whom the work is particularly challenging and stressful. We’d like to acknowledge our essential service workers, and particularly those members of our community on the front lines of health care; we thank you so much for your work and sacrifice on our behalf; you are in our prayers, and we’ll continue to do our part to stay healthy and safe.

I’ll leave you with this: Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ the Father’s Son, in truth and love.
Have a good weekend PCS

Secondary School Note...
Watch for Secondary Term 3 Report Cards, which will be emailed home on Wednesday, April 29.

Class meetings, one-on-one support, at-home labs and other learning activities, group work - there is lots happening in our remote classrooms! Students should be engaged with their classes each day. If you are unsure of their progress, please ask them to show you the classrooms, which are well laid out with weekly and daily directions from their teachers. Beyond regular classes, we also hope students will connect through Clubs; a list of current clubs and codes for joining can be found on the Remote Learning link at
Student Transcript Service
Students in grades 10- 12 often want to check their BC Ministry of Education School
Transcript.  Attached is some information about accessing transcripts with the Ministry of Education.
This transcript includes all the courses completed between grades 10 – 12 and is the
official record for BC graduation program credits.
Important Graduation Information.
While we are currently unable to gather as a school community, we don't know when this might change. We are continuing to plan for our commencement ceremony on June 24th with the understanding that this PCS community event may not be possible.
For Commencement, grade 12 students dress in traditional academic regalia (black gown and cap) and we need each grade 12 to let Mr. Tuffin know their height.  To do this, students can join the Graduation and You classroom and complete the assignment 'How Tall Are You'?
Without this information, students may not have a gown that fits them properly for our ceremony.
Secondary School Counselling
The secondary school counselling team has developed a website to help students navigate their current journey.  Please head to their page for a range of excellent resources.
Secondary Library Books Available!
You may borrow up to 5 books for 3 weeks by placing your book order with this form by Mondays at noon.  Books can be collected at the front entrance of the Secondary School on Thursdays from 2-4 pm (starting April 23).  Select from our Secondary Library Catalogue. Physical distancing and cleaning protocols will be followed!

Books, Audiobooks, and Podcasts! Oh, my!

In my sister-in-law's house the answer to "I'm hungry" was always, "Eat a piece of fruit!" In my house, the answer to "I'm bored" was usually "Read a book!" But you and your kids might be running low on books to read. Mrs. Watts has put together a list of 1000's of books online (never quite as good as the heft of a physical book), as well as a list of audiobooks online, and some family-friendly podcasts, which can entertain as you and your family blitz through a "10 minute tidy" of a bedroom, or peel potatoes for supper.  Enjoy:

Calendar Updates
If you'd like to have a peek at the year's "key dates" you can do so on any time.  Much has changed dues to Covid 19 - but we will be adding "group" activities as we go along.
