No rest for the wicked!

With the late nights, training and dedication that went into the pre-holiday shows Famously Free To Be Me, they’d have been forgiven for hanging up their dancing shoes and taking a well-earned rest this summer. But then, they wouldn’t have been the 4.15ers we know and love. Rest? We don’t think we’ve seen them as busy since, well, last term! And they’ve been being brilliant, as usual.

First off: TV, TV and more TV..

as we had 4.15ers on-screen, behind the scenes and lining up for the hottest parts. In a showbiz exclusive we wangled it for a lucky few to get a sneak preview of the new interactive CBBC attraction. Once in (and sworn to secrecy), 4.15ers tested the children’s tours and gave their feedback to help the Beeb make them eeeeeven better for the grand opening. When you hit it for yourselves and LOVE IT – which you totally will - remember, you’ve got our guys to thank. Not content with shaping the future, they also got a tour of a working film set, made their own version of Diddy Dick and Dom, and performed a scene from a future Wolfblood episode.  Whoop, whoop! It’s safe to say 4.15ers know how to max out an opportunity.

As you know, we’re incredibly proud of the crew, or as we think of them, our #FamousFam. Seriously, we can take them anywhere and they always shine. And this time was no exception. We had a shower of praise from sooperdooper important BBC TV bods who were impressed by the children’s talent and maturity as well as their intelligent, questioning minds.  Not just that, but they only went and switched the flipping cameras on so the gang could be interviewed for Alfie and Charlie’s Breakfast Show! Today: breakfast; tomorrow: primetime! Aim high, 4.15ers; you’re definitely destined for great things!
Big -ups!
Of course, it wouldn’t be a F4.15 newsletter without a few big-ups, so here are this term’s mentions. Firstly, a huge round of virtual-text-based-applause for everyone who took part in the F415, Lo-Guidice and Heartbreak collaboration in Jesmond Dene. ‘Peter Pan’ may be a classic tale but it’s fair to say, we’ve never seen it done in quite such a magical setting. We were so inspired that... OK, it’s official…we’re never growing up.

And there’s more hot-off-the-press TV news..

You ready? OK, well, this summer a very lucky (and talented) group of young 4.15 actors spent their time filming for a major CBBC series. It’s gonna be big; it’s gonna be brilliant; it’s gonna be...revealed in a few weeks ‘cause at the moment we’ve gotta keep quiet. Seriously, it’s so impossibly exciting we’ve had to fill our mouths with chocolate biscuits from the Famous kitchen just so we don’t accidentally spill the beans. That’s our excuse anyway. Watch this space and as soon as we can share it, you’ll be the first to know.
The second lot of patting-on-the-back goes to the Famous puppeteers! Thanks to a longtime pal, performer and pretty proficient puppeteer Mark P, 4.15ers got their Muppet on and had a blast at our professional puppetry workshop. Having to get up-to-speed with lip-syncing, puppet manipulation and characterisation – all at once –certainly made us realise that the old puppeting lark’s waaay harder than it looks. All hail, Kermit the Frog: dude, with renewed appreciation for the craft, we salute your green-faced, ribbitting brilliance.
And finally, because we’re still more than a bit speechless, five simple words that capture the height of the Famous 4.15 Summer: Josh. Laura. Danny. Patty. Grease.

Here’s to the new term: tune in, drop in, be part of it. We’re not Famous without you.
