This year, I’m moving to a quarterly format for the Resilience for Life newsletter. This is our first post in 2021. Happy Spring!
After writing a monthly blog since 2013, I felt like it was time to take a break from monthly posts. Of course, the 100+ newsletters, vlogs, and other resources will remain available on the website.
In the past year, I’ve seen a big uptick in both my private coaching practice and my work for BetterUp as a Fellow Coach. I’m thrilled to continue to work with people all over the US and the world. Hot off the press this month: Prince Harry joins BetterUp as its first Chief Impact Officer.
Coaching is a unique engagement; I don’t consult, teach or advise. Coaches act as a partner in facilitating change, and help clients reveal their inner wisdom. If you are interested in a consult or want to know more about 1:1 coaching, visit my coaching page or request a complimentary consult.
Last month, I was a guest on Laura Bender’s Heartfelt Consciousness podcast. It’s a short, fun chat about my journey from a kid interested in Eastern philosophy to my present incarnation. It’s also a love letter to my magnificent teachers and all that they have given to me. Laura has a number of interesting podcasts worth checking out, including an interview with my colleague and friend Deb Phelps, founder of Peaceful Wellness.
I continue to serve as a Yoga for Arthritis mentor, working one-on-one with individuals seeking a credential in Yoga for Arthritis. This wonderful program created by Dr. Steffany Moonaz offers many, many resources. If you or anyone you love suffers from arthritis, I encourage you to check out the YFA website.
Finally, as we (hopefully) come to the other side of what has been a tumultuous and mind-bending year, I encourage you to continue the positive practices you may have begun during 2020.
After I received my first dose of the COVID vaccine, I noticed a rapid (and shocking) revving up of my personal engine. Mind racing, I began thinking of plans for this and that, and travel here and there, and lions and tigers and bears, OH MY! Is this the way I used to be?
I had to laugh, but I know that noticing my mind unleashed was the gift I needed to remember that life can be very rich and full even if it isn’t lived at a breakneck pace. In fact, it’s in these moments of stillness and contemplation that I find gratitude, peace and insight.
What do you want to carry forward from this past year? What has buoyed you during a very dark time? What has been your greatest blessing? Consider these questions before charging ahead. It’s a (hopefully) once-in-a-100-year event, and a powerful opportunity to reflect.
