I couldn’t think of a better way to end the decade and usher in the next than seeing John Oliver perform. I’d seen him once before, in the early days of his ascension to late-night royalty, and he didn’t disappoint then or now. The decibels of laughter filling the Masonic Temple in San Francisco during his set felt incredibly blissful and yes, healing.

As I Ieft the theater, I looked around in awe, surrounded by folks smiling ear-to-ear. When was the last time I was anywhere (!) where every person in my line of sight looked happy? I thought, “I want more of this in 2020. I need more of this in the next decade.” Read more here.

Netflix Documentary: The Game Changers tells the story of James Wilks — elite Special Forces trainer and The Ultimate Fighter winner — as he travels the world on a quest to uncover the optimal diet for human performance. You might be surprised by what he finds. A must watch for anyone curious about optimal performance and diet.
Movie: Little Women
Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of Little Women draws on the classic novel and the writings of Louisa May Alcott. Alcott was a brilliant observer of human nature and this movie is delightful, heartbreaking and inspiring. One of my favorite books as a child, I can only marvel at how timeless it is. Her alter-ego, the character of Jo, is truly a heroine for the ages. If you're a woman, please share this movie with the men in your life.
