This month I interview Harvey Deutch, long-time physical therapist and beloved teacher of therapeutic yoga. I had the good fortune to work with Harvey (via Zoom) this year when I began to experience a shoulder issue—which has completely resolved, thanks to his wisdom and expertise.
In our interview, Harvey discusses the process of working one-to-one by video conferencing, and how that differs from in-person sessions. He also explains how he passionately (and masterfully) integrates therapeutic yoga into physical therapy.
Finally, you’ll hear about Harvey’s offerings, which he presents to all experience levels:
On my daily walks, I love listening to a select number of podcasts which leave me uplifted and a tiny bit wiser. Two of my favorites are Clear and Vivid, hosted by Alan Alda and Unlocking Us, hosted by Brené Brown. Imagine my delight when I discovered that Mr. Alda interviewed Ms. Brown on his July 27th podcast. The topic: Empathy, Courage and Where They Come From. Check it out on Stitcher.com or Apple Podcasts!
Since going to a movie theater is not on my radar and likely won’t be for a long while, I’ve been spending more time than usual with my iPad. Whether you have a tablet or an iPad, holding it aloft while reading or watching a movie can be tiring. Entire the iPad pillow. It allows you to enjoy viewing hands-free, and the tri-ledge options allow for multiple viewing angles. Other pillows and stands are available at many vendors; the one I use is available at Bed, Bath and Beyond and Amazon.com.
