Dear Partners, Associates and friends of GRLI
"I am issuing a global call for a Decade of Action to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Now is the time for bold leadership, both individual and collective...mobilize partnerships like never before." -UN Secretary-General António Guterres, September 2019
I trust that the New Year is starting well for you, and my wish for "all of us" is that the Decade of Action will be remembered by future generations as the Regenerative Twenties. (For more on Regenerative Management Education see the upcoming Deans & Directors Cohort co-hosted by Leeds School of Business, Colorado and Babson College this coming April.)
During recent years we have anticipated the closure of the GRLI and winding up of the Foundation in January 2025, however it appears that our work is not yet complete. The “Towards 2024” framing encouraged us to focus on achieving impact and steered us away from institutionalising the GRLI for self-serving purposes whilst recognising the urgency of our times.
27 representatives from our partnership have already confirmed participation at our first ever virtual GRLI gathering which takes place on 29 January. The event follows our November AGM in Portugal where the GRLI considered our role in the liminal space between extinction and hope. We anticipate that our work and vision requires the GRLI to transcend its current form in order to serve as a uniquely positioned catalyst and facilitator in a growing ecosystem of initiatives and organisations that share our purpose and align with our focus.
