Interactive Artist

Articulating and embracing vision

Dear Friends and Supporters,

I started this newsletter project to connect to you, to document projects, and to challenge myself to articulate my artistic practice.  Working as a life practice artist in theater as a director, activist, and workshop leader I recognize in all that I do, I love to lead groups through adventures.

I am drawn to engagement, connection, and play, the creative expression of your empowered self.  My work is performative, improv character based, easy, fun, and engaging physically.  The core idea is that everyone has something to offer and the ability to engage.

Happy to announce:   Website launch Calling All Parties.
A Smithsonian Workshop on Physical Interaction.

I am currently collecting testimonials- if we have worked together and you have the time please send me a brief sentence or two about what I bring to the room, or how I am to work with.  Thank you.

Yours, Yana

If I Ruled the World

On June 20th, 7 brave seniors represented World Leaders from Haiti, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Senegal, Kenya, St. Lucia, and USA.  Over 150 people showed up had a delicious lunch and an informative afternoon.

I received a grant from SPARC and the Brooklyn Arts Council to be a resident artist.   We met weekly and discussed issues of leadership and their visions for the world.

Voices were empowered and imaginations spoke from a place of power and possibility. They were honest, engaged and had a lot of fun.

I hope to continue to grow this project; our elder's have a lot of perspective to offer us.

Calling All Parties

On June 7 & 8 Figment occurred on Governors Island.
We created Aqua Attack and had over 200 people dress up and toss wet stuffed animals with glee. 2012 Video

This event is very popular, silly, and refreshing.  We have been invited as a headliner to attend Figment Toronto July 26,27.
Wishing all much Independence and a Happy July.
