Our Water Matters competition
Closing date: 12th June
There's still time to enter the Our Water Matters competition and win a water-themed Brighton Festival goody bag! Children draw their idea for saving water, working independently, with friends or a parent. To download the entry form and teachers' notes click here.
Preston Park Wildlife Event: Thursday 2nd July
Explore this green oasis in the centre of town and learn about its multitude of habitats including ponds, woodland, wildlife gardens, wildflower meadows and the oldest Elm trees in Europe! This event is suitable for KS2 pupils, with the choice of a morning or afternoon session. For more info click here.
World Oceans Day: Monday 8th June
Join people around the World and celebrate our wonderful ocean wildlife.  See the Making Waves website for more information and ideas on how you can join in the celebrations.
SDNP Travel Grants
Apply NOW for a travel grant of up to £300 per school to take pupils into the beautiful South Downs between September 2015 and March 2016. The grants are the perfect way to take advantage of BHee's FREE Wildlife workshops. For grant info click here; to book a BHee workshop contact Katie.
Eco Uniforms
Be one of the first local schools to set up an eco-uniform scheme, including recycled and Fairtrade uniforms. The Brighton & Hove Fair Trade Steering Group is piloting a project exploring how schools can benefit financially from a structured uniform re-use scheme and sourcing Fairtrade uniforms. This could be the perfect project for your next Eco-Schools Green Flag, combining the Waste and Global Citizenship topics. For more info contact Julia.
Safe, active and sustainable travel to school
More than 12,000 pupils from 36 schools in Brighton and Hove have just taken part in Walk to School Week. The School Travel Advisors supported the campaign by giving out resources, prizes and delivering assemblies. This was also Piers the Meerkat’s big week as he visited a different school every day - well done Piers! For info on how the team can support your school, contact Stephen Kelly on (01273) 290561.
One Planet City: Photography Competition
Closing date: 30th June 
Pupils at primary and secondary schools in Brighton and Hove are invited to enter FotoDocument’s One Planet City photography competition. For more information click here.
