We're thrilled to announce two new Eco-Schools Green Flags have been awarded to Brighton schools! Contact Helen for advice on your Eco-Schools work - we're particularly keen to work with schools who a haven't yet been involved in the BHee project. 

The updated BHee website includes a wealth of information, including wildlife identification sheets, winter wildlife gardening information, resources to support a pupil-led energy campaign, and the BHee environmental review documents.

As you prepare for the excitement of Christmas, don't forget to plan ahead for next year's 'eco' activities. Book a spring or summer staff meeting with Katie to give your colleagues the confidence to use your school grounds as a curriculum resource. Or take advantage of a travel grant to visit Stanmer Park for one of BHee's NEW winter wildlife workshops (see below).

Green Flags for Coldean Primary and Downs Infants

Congratulations to both schools! We now have 14 Green Flag schools in the city, and look forward to several more before Christmas. More info.

Visit the Brighton Earthship with your Eco Team or class for an inspiring insight into green technologies and sustainable living. More info.

The newly restored Level is a haven for wildlife, and its new café boasts 'eco' features including PV panels and a turfed roof. Why not visit with your class or Eco Team? More info.

School Food Offer

The Food Partnership are pleased to announce the launch of the new School Food Offer - a range of support including the chance to get up to £700 for food-based activities in your school. More info.

AMRs are here!

The council is installing automated meter reading (AMR) in all schools so you will soon have detailed daily usage data for gas, electricity and water. More info (on the intranet).
