Changes In The MLC
Dear <<First Name>>,

I wanted you to know about some position changes that are happening in the MLC.

First, our General Coordinator, Allison DeVries, has decided to take a full-time position with a growing company that is five minutes from her house.  Please join me in congratulating Allison in her new opportunity.  We will miss her enthusiasm and strong work ethic very much.  I personally wish her the best.

Joining us as our new General Coordinator is Laura Bankowski.  Besides being a past pediatric nurse at Mott Children’s Hospital and raising two teenagers with her husband, Jeff, Laura has extensive experience in non-profit organizations that will be especially beneficial to the MLC.  Please join me in welcoming Laura to the MLC.

Finally, after serving many years, first as Coordinator then as Website Coordinator of the MLC, Lauren Stewart has decided to work full-time on her primary career goal of writing and journalism.  We will miss Lauren very much because she has given us tremendous support.  Please join me in wishing Lauren best-of-luck in her new career journey.

As you may have read in a special email and on our website, we are in the midst of reviewing candidates for the position of Website Coordinator and are hopeful of identifying a new person shortly.

Al Woodliff
MLC President
Hello MLC members!

My name is Laura Bankowski and I have accepted the role as your General Coordinator for the MLC.

Currently, I live in Ann Arbor with my husband of 23 years and our two teenage children. Most evenings and weekends I am attempting to keep up with my kid’s busy schedules. However, when I’m not at a cross country meet, lacrosse game or robotics tournament, I enjoy volunteering. The last several years I have been involved with a few non-profit groups in my hometown. Currently, I am the president of a non-profit group, The Saline Music Boosters. This is a group of volunteers that are committed to raising money to support our music programs 5th -12th grades. I am also a Champion for the Chad Tough Foundation. I volunteer at several events with this Foundation throughout the calendar year. Raising awareness and fundraising for a pediatric brain cancer cure is something near and dear to my heart. My education is from the University of Michigan School of Nursing. I was a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse for 12 years. When I’m not working, volunteering or driving my kids to an event, I love to travel. My husband and I are trying to visit all 61 National Parks in our lifetime. We began this journey 4 years ago and have already been to 25 parks. The most recent being Hawaii Volcano National Park on Christmas Eve! Our next trip will be to the Channel Islands in California. I look forward to meeting and working with you in the future.
Dear <<First Name>>,

Many of you may know that I changed my position last year after gaining a full-time writing position. I also got engaged last year and will be getting married in September 2019.

Unfortunately, the time has come that I must say goodbye to the MLC. I started as an intern when I was at Oakland University in 2010. My role just grew and grew from there and I've learned a lot over the years. I've also met so many amazing people through the MLC!

I met many of you at events or talked to you via email or on MLC's social media pages. I truly enjoyed meeting every single one of you! I am incredibly grateful for my time with the MLC. Thank you to everyone who helped me throughout the years!

Keep in touch on Linkedin!

Sincerely,

Lauren Stewart
I am very excited about my new role but I am also sad to be leaving the MLC. Even though I was part of the organization for such a short period of time, I have met and worked with so many amazing individuals. I appreciate the amount of work that everyone puts into making this organization great and the opportunity it provides to our communities around the state. I hope to continue working with the MLC as a volunteer in the near future once I have settled into my new role. Thank you, everyone, for being so great to me and for making my job even easier!

Allison DeVries
