North Canton Public Library Explore the World

August is “Explore the World of Film” month!

With the launch of our new logo and accompanying tagline, “explore the world,” all areas of the library are collaborating to explore a common theme each month. As if exploration isn’t exciting enough on its own, we’ll reward you for it too!

It’s so easy:

1.    If you don't already have one, pick up a free guidebook at the library.
2.    Choose and complete one of August’s activities.
3.    Library staff will validate August’s guidebook coupon for a Buy One, Get One Admission to the Canton Palace Theatre, and entry in a drawing to win a free balcony party for 25 guests at the theatre.

Each month, the library’s special incentives are possible thanks to an “exploration” partner. In August, the Canton Palace Theatre is providing this support.

See all of the options for participating.

With the support of Premier Bank & Trust, the library continues its FREE series of films shown outdoors in North Canton’s Bitzer Park this summer. Bring a blanket and your family. Popcorn will be available. We'll end the summer series with Hotel Transylvania. (however, rumor has it you might want to save the second Friday in September for an encore to the series)

We’re grateful to Premier Bank & Trust for their sponsorship of this program and to the North Canton Area Chamber of Commerce, the North Canton
Community Growth Association, MissionView Church, the city of North Canton, Wagoner Moving, Northminster Presbyterian Church, Ken Palosi and the North Canton YMCA for their support.

Children's activities begin at 7 p.m. and the film begins at dusk.

The Stark County Hunger Task Force will be set up to accept non-perishable food donations this month. Please bring a donation for them if you can.

Bitzer Park is the green area next to the North Canton YMCA.

As we "explore the world" of film in August, we're celebrating with a day long film festival featuring movies that were adapted from books. Join us for as many films as you'd like Saturday, August 10. We'll have snacks and drinks available as well as some fun facts about each film.

As a special bonus, anyone who attends any part of the festival will receive a buy one, get one admission coupon to the Canton Palace Theatre through our "explore the world" guidebook program.
