Holden: Arbor Day Exhibit
This Spring the Holden Arboretum will host an art exhibit showcasing the works of local nature and landscape photographer, Geoff Baker.
The exhibition will be on display in the Corning Visitor Center beginning Arbor Day weekend (April 25) and running through May 31. The exhibit, entitled simply, "STILL POINT", will feature a range of landscape images from northeast Ohio and northwest Michigan. Local marshes, farms and woodlands are his principal subjects, bringing into focus the beauty of scenes that are passed by or go unnoticed in the rush of daily life. Through his landscapes, Mr. Baker explores our sense of place as well as the paradoxical elements of beauty.
Geoff Baker lives in Cleveland Hts., Ohio, dividing much of his time between photographing northeast Ohio and western Michigan. He has been a consistent award winning photographer over the course of his business career, holding one person exhibitions in Michigan and Ohio, including solo exhibits locally at the Butler Institute of American Art and the Cleveland Botanical Garden. His work has been purchased for the private collections of the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, major law firms and other institutional and individual collectors.
Geoff and his wife, Kate, opened Still Point Gallery in 2009 in Cleveland's Little Italy neighborhood.
