Welcome to the sixth edition of G2Z e-News!
5th National G2Z Summit & Workshops
Can you believe we are only one month away from the biennial 5th National G2Z Summit & Workshops?!
Time is flying and we are very much looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Gold Coast for this unique opportunity to advance our knowledge on all matters to do with saving the lives of unwanted companion animals. We are working hard to make sure you get the most out of this unique opportunity to listen to renowned experts, without having to leave the country! You can view the draft program here.
Dr Pamela Reid
One of our special international presenters, Dr Pamela Reid, (Vice President Animal Behaviour Centre, ASPCA) has been very busy lately speaking at a number of conferences around the world. In late July she presented at the 50th Annual Conference of the Animal Behaviour Society in Boulder, Colorado alongside other animal behaviour luminaries such as Patricia McConnell, Marc Bekoff, Julie Hecht and Suzanne Hetts. You can learn more about the ABS here.
As well as speaking at the Summit, Pam is co -presenting a workshop on Tuesday 10 September with Dr Lila Miller. If you would like to know more about shelter medicine and behavioural rehabilitation then this is for you! At only $80, fully catered, per person, for the day, it’s also incredibly economically viable. To make sure that everyone has an opportunity to attend, the workshop is also being repeated on Saturday 14 September. You can register for the workshop (and Summit) here.
Animal Welfare League of Queensland are again offering tours of their Coombabah facility for Summit delegates. If this opportunity interests you please email us.
In the last edition of the G2Z e-News we introduced you to some of our generous Summit sponsors.
Today we are very excited to announce our Platinum sponsor – Nestle Purina PetCare.
We are also pleased to announce HomeSafe ID as Silver sponsors.
Make sure you say hi to our sponsors and exhibitors at the Summit and learn more about what they do.
Nestlé Purina PetCare is proud to partner with G2Z for the 5th National G2Z Summit “Taking G2Z to the Next Level”.
At Nestlé Purina PetCare we understand and share the strong feelings of love and respect pet owners have for their companion animals. Because most of us are pet owners too, the welfare of dogs and cats is our top priority - it has been our focus for over 80 years and continues to drive everything we do.
For us, the world of pet welfare goes beyond shelter walls and into rethinking what we can do to create a better world for pets and the people who love them. As a company guided by a passion for pets, we're committed to using our scale to work shoulder to shoulder with pet welfare experts, to inspire pet lovers to get more involved, to change perceptions of shelter pets and to create more powerful bonds between pets and people.
As well as our support of organisations such as Animal Welfare League Australia, our concern for of the welfare of cats and dogs is reflected in other activities such as the operation of our Petcare Advice line providing free advice to animal owners and our involvement in the development of an Australian Standard aimed at ensuring the safety of manufactured dog and cat food products.
Our quest to drive pet welfare forward leads to our hope that this Summit and its Workshops will result in industry-leading approaches to dealing with companion animal welfare and prevent the abandonment and unnecessary euthanasia of companion animals in the future. As the world’s leading petcare company, we stand ready to help.
