About the speakers:
Petrea King Petrea is the CEO Founder of Quest to Life Foundation.
She is a well-known author, inspirational keynote speaker, teacher and facilitator. She is also qualified as a naturopath, herbalist, clinical hypnotherapist, yoga and meditation teacher.
In 1983 Petrea was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and was not expected to live. Meditation and the integration of past traumatic experiences, including the recent suicide of her brother Brenden, became paramount in her recovery.
Petrea has counselled individually or through residential programs tens of thousands of people living with cancer and other life-challenging illnesses, grief, loss, trauma and tragedy. She is at the forefront of wellness education and is a frequent lecturer at medical and other conferences. Petrea sees crisis as a catalyst for personal growth and understanding and as an opportunity for healing and peace.
From his own experience Charlie believes meditation is an extraordinary tool to maintain mental, emotional and spiritual health in a world increasingly challenged by anxiety, stress and depression.
There are 30 Brahma Kumaris Meditation Centres in Australia including three Retreat Centres; one on the Mornington Peninsula outside Melbourne, one an hour south of Sydney near Wilton and the third at Leura in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney.
Charlie is based in Sydney and regularly visits the Retreat Centres and Meditation Centres around Australia. He is also a regular international traveller having spoken at forums, seminars, retreats and workshops in more than 60 countries.
It seems we are all living in an almost constant storm today. While the storms of situations, emotions and reactions rage around us the wise spiritual traveler learns to navigate into the calm centre of the storm. Increasing our own spiritual power and resilience, we also become a lighthouse for others in the storm’s path. Charlie Hogg
