Together through theParkdale Community Economic Development (PCED) planning project we’ve built a vision for Parkdale that emphasizes four overarching values: Inclusiveness, Affordability, Diversity and Equity. The risk of untamed gentrification in the area puts these values at risk.

Global Day of Action - Toronto Vigil/Rally for Larung Gar

Facebook Event

PNLT was created to facilitate equitable development and confront displacement causing gentrification in Parkdale. Let's stand in solidarity with our Tibetan community members to condemn displacement and destruction in their homeland.

- Students for Free Tibet -
"On July 20th, the Chinese government began the wide-scale demolitions of the world’s largest Tibetan Buddhist academy, Larung Gar. The multi-year plan aims to downsize Larung Gar’s population by 50% and evict and displace at least 5,000 of its 10,000+ residents.

Join us in the streets (in Parkdale) to remind China that we stand with the people of Larung Gar. This event is co-organized by SFT Canada and RTYC Toronto. We will meet at Parkdale Collegiate Institute at 6pm and proceed with a "Kora" (
circumabulation) of Parkdale." - SFT Canada
